Welcome to ELC

Now entering our 12th year, the Effective Living Centre looks forward to 2009 with a diverse offering of community development and engagement events.  Some of the events planned for the first part of the year are listed below.

Christmas in July
Succulent turkey with all the trimmings, baked ham, steaming Christmas pudding with brandy sauce – these are just some of the happy memories of Christmas. You can enjoy a traditional hot Christmas dinner in the depths of winter this July. Come along to this fund raising evening and celebrate with friends. There’ll be a delicious, three course meal and musical entertainment. Women with Latitude, a folk and harmony song group who donate funds from their “gigs” to support a Nepalese village, will entertain us with their vibrant singing.

Make a group with your friends and enjoy “Christmas in July” on Saturday 18 July at 6.30pm, here at the ELC Centre. All of this for only $30, including wines  and coffee. Booking essential.

Are you a Friend of the Effective Living Centre?
Almost since its inception, the Friends Programme has been an important part of the administrative support that is so vitally needed to ensure the successful operation of the Effective Living Centre.  If you have not yet considered becoming a Friend or if you have supported us in the past, we would like to hear from you.

Subscriptions for 2009 are now due and payable, at only $30 per person or $40 per family. We need many more friends to secure our ongoing programs.  You will be admitted to our programmes at the concession rate and receive your own Friends Name Tag to wear to all our functions.  Don’t delay – subscribe today!

The Effective Living Centre is based at 26 King William Road, Wayville, SA, and is part of the Christ Church Complex and a community outreach program of Christ Church Uniting Church.

The Effective Living Centre
ELC believes people learn throughout life and that there is a great diversity and richness between citizens. It is essential to respect the integrity and value of each individual and communal grouping.

Programs can be roughly grouped under the headings of Relationships, Social Issues, Sacred and Creative.
We have good office and meeting facilities and seek opportunities to work cooperatively with other groups on innovative projects.
The Effective Living Centre (ELC) is a pivotal part of the outreach program of Christ Church Uniting Church in Wayville. The Centre seeks to help people enjoy a full and purposeful life. Many programs are educational and all respect clients belief systems and personal values regardless of social, political or spiritual stance.
